Some kind works from Sounds Like! “... this record is really a love letter to the city of Glasgow. The way in which the duo are repeatedly drawn back to Kelvinhall, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Glasgow School of Art, Old Dumbarton Road and other locations almost without realising is testament to the adoration they have for the city.” There are still a few copies of the Fan Club edition of the record left. These are only available from the Lame-O Records store, but the limited splatter vinyl and regular black vinyl version are available from Bandcamp. Kind words from Janglepophub, our favourite blog with the best taste ever! “Tracks such as Kelvin Hall, Don’t Travel Far and Summer Boy seem intent to transport the sort of Glaswegian indie-pop styles of Eugene Kelly slap bang into the middle of 1960 bay Area scene, resulting in a unique feel that somewhere, deep in the summer snow of Scotland, sunshine and surf pop are thriving…”
In case you missed it, we just put out an album, "Great Record", on Lame-O Records. It's "an irresistible half-hour of jangling power pop with hooks for days, on which songs about plush toys and Greek tennis stars sit cosily alongside ambivalent meditations on DIY culture, art school posturing and the vagaries of modern queer existence." There are very limited copies left of the "Fan Club" edition. It comes with a Fan Club badge, sticker and zine, and it's on handsome blue splatter vinyl. This version is only available through the Lame-O Records site! Two of The Pooches have made an album, called "Great Record", under their U.S. Highball moniker. It's half an hour of supremely catchy bedroom power pop packed with hooks, harmonies and choruses for days. It's out July 12th on Lame-O Records and you can hear two tracks right now on Bandcamp. You can also stream the tracks on Spotify and Apple music. If you're in the UK, you can pre-order the record from monorail music and you'll get the clear and pink splatter vinyl. It comes with a zine, badge, sticker and mixtape compiled by the band that features a bunch of songs that inspired the album. Enjoy!
