The Allman Brothers Band Family lost another member last night, Kofi Burbridge. Kofi a master of keyboards and flute came into the family through his brother bassist Oteil. He died in Atlanta on February 15, following complications surrounding treatment for an ongoing cardiac issue. He regularly sat in with the Brothers, over 20 times listed on ABB web site, but there were more shows not listed. His warm smile, subtle personality and expert music skills made him a welcome addition every time he was at a show. Kofi had a standing invitation to play, some times he just came to watch, or wandered off. His flute solos on Elizabeth Reed were unique and memorable. His keyboard contributions were masterful. Our broken hearts and grief go out to the Burbridge and Tedeschi Trucks Band families on the loss of Kofi. His memory, talent and contributions to music will be with us all forever. The Allman Brothers Band have lost another member of its’ family today. Earl Francis died peacefully in hospice overnight at a VA hospital in Wilkes Barre, PA. Earl Francis joined the family in 1989 as a lighting rigger and grew to be lighting director through 2014. Earl also worked many Gregg Allman tours as well as continuing his long time employment with BML/Blackbird Theatrical services. Known to many as Pappy, he was always the first to load in and last to load out, willing to lend a hand or his expertise at any given moment. Earl always had a kind word even when he was being irascible. A Vietnam Veteran and a survivor of the Rock & Roll wars. He will be missed by all that worked with him and knew him. A loyal Brother until the end. See you and the rest of the guys when we get there to join you on the stage of after life. The Allman Brothers Band Family & Crew
