Hello everyone,
Stephen Baboo here, I'm not one for using facebook normally but I thought this was worthy of an exception.
A week on Monday, or depending when you read this, the 9th of July : I, along with my friend and long term collaborator Paul Jones will be launching our new album in the big apple (London) at the beautiful St Pancras Old Church, near King's Cross Station. The wonderful people at Parallel Lines are putting the gig on and the transcendental Thomas Ragsdale is playing too
You should all come (London, the surrounding areas and further afield)
Here's a picture of me an Paul in promotional format.
We played our first gig at rough trade in Bristol this week and it was really great, and are about to play / have played another gig at home here in Cardiff. Both were or are going to be magical. What can go wrong in the big city:

Hello everyone and I hope you are having a joyous 2018 thus far,
Hold on to your hats as this mailing list is full to the brim and thick and fast. I'm not sure how to structure the information, most exciting to least exctiting? newest to oldest? I've opted for chronological.
1. I, along with my friend Paul Jones (a long time collaborator with Sweet Baboo) have announced an album we recorded together under the name 'Group Listening'. It's a world away from Sweet Baboo. An album of ambient pieces reworked for clarinet and piano (I'm on clarinet). The first 'single' is a version of the Roedelius classic 'Wenn Der Sudwind Weht'. You can listen and watch the video for it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKHPPP_3QPU.
It's been a real labour of love for Paul and I, what started out as a half cooked idea to play a one of classical concert in front of 25 people has turned into something we are both extremely proud of. It was actually recorded in 2016 and we finally finished it last summer so are really really really excited for people to hear it. The PRAH label are kind enough to release it and you can PREORDER it https://grouplistening.bandcamp.com.
We've booked a couple of gigs to celebrate the release too and hopefully more will pop up as the year goes on.
Without sounding big headed I think they might be pretty special....that or a total disaster!!!
I've already gone out of chronological order but here's a list of the gigs.

Something new for the upcoming tour (it’s a little different)
Me and the band were buzzing after our tour this summer. As the tour went on (it was only a week) we added more and more danceable numbers. The joy of seeing people shaking their thing was infectious. This band are a tight unit so the more people can get their groove on the better. This is is the season to be jolly after all.
With this in mind we also set about the challenge to write the best disco number this side of Boogie Nights. Now I'm not normally one to gloat but I genuinely think we achieved it. It's possibly the best song we've ever recorded.
The song is called Lost Out on The Floor. The first time you'll get to hear this song (in full) is live on tour. The only place you will be able to OWN this song is on tour. We're be taking it back pre 2008 and the Spotify revolution with a download code made available on the merch stall, a perfect stocking filler for friend and family and a surefire way to get it straight to the top of the charts.

Woohoo!!!
We're over the moon. So much so that we've added another one on the 7th December. This time with Bristol (and local legend too here at ATFC) KID CARPET.
It feels like a special gig so we've decided to ONLY make tickets available PHYSICALLY. Old School promotion.
There are a 100 tickets made ready and waiting to be sold from SPILLERS, the oldest record shop in the world. It's a good excuse to go in there and shop local.

This is how we did it before the wwweb.
We promise it'll be a fun evening
