This is sad to hear. We are glad that Omar is doing better. We have played many shows with Chinese Connection Dub Embassy over the years, and Omar and the band are super talented and sweet people. Negro Terror is amazing as well. Please if you get a chance, help and donate to get Omar back on his feet. We just donated and I hope you all can as well. Omar, we are pulling for you and I know Memphis and the rest of our music community will as well. Much love brother.
Getting ready for the Rites of Spring show at Ashlar Hall this Friday night. It’s pretty awesome to be a part of this, if you have a chance, go on Facebook and look up Rites of Spring at Ashlar Hall, a way to check out probably the coolest building in Memphis hands down. $30 at the door, the event starts around 7:30pm. We play for 30 minutes under the stairwell. Come on out! #ashlarhall #princemongoscastle #ritesofspring
We are saddened to hear the loss of such an incredible musician and person, John Kilzer. This comes as such a complete shock and we are heartbroken. I remember once about 6 years ago, I was outside of my house with my dog and here comes this tall gentlemen, walking his two dogs as he did all the time in my neighborhood. He came up to me and we started talking, then realizing it was John Kilzer, we immediately started talking up a storm. He knew who the band was, and one thing he told me that has still stayed with me til today, was that he said, “Thank you for continuing to help carry the Memphis Music flag , and being an incredible ambassador for Memphis to the rest of the world.” I’ll never forget that. And also his small plaque inside Studio B control room in Ardent Studios above the couch that said “Kilzer’s Spot”. You will be missed John. Thanks for being an incredible person and musician. We will continue to help carry the flag. See you on the other side brother. -Geoff

Hey everyone in the world! Just a reminder, we are having our “10 Year Anniversary” show at Railgarten this Friday, 8/31 starting at 6pm sharp. Our dear friend Brandon Kinder from The Wealthy West is opening, then our ride or die Carolina Story plays before us. This will be a very memorable night and one for the books. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our friend and namesake, Star. Please message us or post below if you have any photos or videos with him. He was a shooting "star", his life burned bright but short. We will be dedicating our 10th anniversary show to him at the end of August. Rest in peace, Johnathan.
Hello Star and Micey family. Let us start this post by saying we don’t know how accurate this news is but if it is true then we have some tragic and sad news at Star and Micey camp. Recently we’ve spoken with some folks in the homeless community and it seems that Jonathan Gordon Aka “Star” of Star and Micey was murdered on the streets of Memphis this past saturday night 3/31/18. For those of you that know, Star was homeless most of the time we’ve had this band and it was upon meeting him over 10 years ago and being inspired by his kind and musical spirit that we decided to name the band after him and his ex Micey. If this is true about his death then we are grief stricken. And if you have any information to solidify this or how to acquire information about deaths in the homeless community in Memphis then that would be greatly appreciated. Also we are very sorry to all of you who knew Star. At least we got the pleasure of knowing him and experiencing the kindness and warmth of his soul. We love you guys and we love you Star. This is a sad day.
