Had the chance to join Seven Kingdoms for their video shoot for 'The Water Dance' Friday at Morrisound Recording, and I've got to tell you, it was one of the coolest things I've ever done. It was also a reminder of how different this band is from any other out there. Think about what this experience entailed. The band allowed 10 of us to invade their personal work space, where they essentially live and work when they're recording, where they challenge themselves and bond and create. We got to mingle with their families and closest friends. And legendary producer Jim Morris welcomed us into what amounts to his home for much of the day. If you haven't seen it, the new studio looks spectacular in photographs. And it is absolutely stunning in person. I don't think it was any coincidence that Jim wanted to try this idea with this band first. From the moment you walk into the studio, you see how talented and professional it is, and you feel the mutual respect between Jim and the band. There was pizza (Eddie & Sam's!) and soda and cookies, and band members happily surrendered their seats to those of us who needed a place to sit. Keith's drum kit was set up in front of the sound board, with Kevin and Camden flanking him. Tyler was on a landing above Camden, and Sabrina was set up in an isolation booth behind Kevin. Jim took time to make sure we all had headphones so we could listen to the recording as it was happening. If we didn't, he provided them. I was sitting in front of Kevin, with a clear view of Keith. If you've never watched a drummer up close, you need to. It is poetry in motion. There is something about watching the bass drum head swell as Keith hits it that is absolutely hypnotizing. And those who got to sit behind him had an even better view of everything he does back there. The band nailed the song on the first take but played it three more times to gather additional video footage. Trust me, there was no lip-syncing here. Sabrina happily powered her way through each take without a hint of wavering. I've always loved her voice, and it amazes me how she finds a way to take it to another level with each new recording. Kevin and Camden are two of the best guitarists in the business, and it's a joy to watch them up close. Tyler, in fairness, could be fronting his own band. And if you haven't met him yet, he will immediately become one of your favorite people. We got to hear the song live in the studio on our headphones, as well as the album version on playback. And let me tell you ... absolute chills! Jim walked us through some of the basics of recording and answered questions about how certain parts of the song came together. Oh, and did I mention that the fans will appear in the video???!!! As if that wasn't enough, we got to hear an additional new song that we weren't expecting. I can't tell you anything about it, because it will spoil the surprise. But I can say ... holy crap, you're going to like this. Something completely unexpected from this band and absolutely spectacular. Can't wait to hear the reaction from the rest of you. When they were done, Jim and the band stayed in the studio for as long as we wanted to answer questions about the new music or just talk. I'm hoping this is an idea that catches on, because I can't wait to do it all over again. If you follow this page, then you already know there's something special going on with this band. Can't wait to see what else they've got up their sleeves, starting with Tuesday's announcement. This is going to be fun ... — Frank Pastor Photo by Second Take Media

For Immediate Release June 20, 2018 Seven Kingdoms Issue Update On Lineup Change Photo Credit: Kyle Evans Photography Today we would like to announce a member change in Seven Kingdoms. We have parted ways with Aaron. It’s obviously not easy choice to make, but this decision is what we found necessary to continue moving forward. We wish him the very best with his other projects and want to thank him for the last 8 years of dedication and hard work! You can check out his other band here: Soulmass. As one door closes, another opens. We would like to welcome John Tyler McDaniel, who will be stepping in as a full time replacement on Bass. Tyler has been a dear friend of the band for a very long time and he will keep that low-end fat and tight for the foreseeable future. You may know him from his other band Monotheist (Prosthetic Records). We are very excited to get this new lineup on the road and will be announcing new North American dates soon! Tyler's Statement: "When I first learned about the band in 2011 I thought what a pro band! I wish I could only be in something as legitimate as Seven Kingdoms one day. Over the next years, I was lucky enough to become very close friends with everybody in the band. They helped me through a rough time and took me out under their wings in 2013 on the Stratovarius and Amaranthe European Tour. It really showed what kind of amazing people they are. I immediately wanted to return that feeling. Over the years I've been involved from everything from the backyard BBQs all the way to being an assistant engineer on Decennium. When the time came for change, I don't think there was any hesitation on mine or the bands part to ask me to step in. I have some big shoes to fill and I plan to give it all I got, on and off stage. I think it's a new chapter for everyone and I know I'm super excited to see what we can do!"
