Finisterre screening with Pete and Sarah in Q&A 29th May - 7.30pm Join us this coming Wednesday 29th May at Regent Street Cinema in central London for a rare screening of Finisterre. Pete and Sarah will join directors Paul Kelly and Kieran Evans for a Q&A preceding the film. All proceeds from the screening will go towards the Save The Social fund and we will also be offering a limited number of signed 30 inch x 20 inch Finisterre posters to those who attend the film. The posters - priced just £15 - are signed by all three Saint Etienne members as well as directors Paul Kelly and Kieran Evans and again all proceeds will go to Save The Social. Tickets are available here but please be quick if this is of interest: https://bit.ly/2VC03aQ The Q&A will be preceded by an impossibly rare showing of one of our favourite BBC Arena documentaries 'Old Kent Road' (1985) directed by Mary Dickinson. Notorious as the cheapest square on the Monopoly board, the Old Kent Road can be traced back to Roman times when it formed part of Watling Street, which led from Dover to Londinium. In the middle ages it became a route of religious pilgrimage for those journeying to Canterbury to visit the tomb of the martyred Thomas Becket. Mary Dickinson’s classic study of this historic thoroughfare was shot for the BBC Arena series in 1985, and provides a charming portrait of a lost world of eccentric South London characters and their emporia, many then on the brink of being edged out by drive-in fast food joints and Thatcherite redevelopment schemes. We're lucky enough top have Mary along to join the Q&A too so this promises to be a VERY special evening. Start time is 7.30pm and both films are 60 mins each. We estimate finish time by 10.10pm for those who need to catch trains. See you down there!!! xx
Rare Finisterre screening with Saint Etienne Q&A A London Double Bill Wednesday 29th May - 7.30pm Plus Q&A with the directors and members of Saint Etienne Heavenly Films and BBC Arena team up to bring you two outstanding documentaries about London at Regent Street Cinema on May 29th. This program is a special Save The Social event and all proceeds will go towards The Social, Little Portland Street which has recently been under threat of closure due to rent hikes and developers. Tickets available here now: https://bit.ly/2VC03aQ Old Kent Road (1985) directed by Mary Dickinson for BBC Arena. Pete Wiggs and Sarah Cracknell from Saint Etienne will then join the Q&A with BAFTA award winning Finisterre director Kieran Evans. Finisterre (2003) directed by Paul Kelly and Kieran Evans with a soundtrack by Saint Etienne. Mapping a lived-in London of timeworn shops and cafés, derelict housing estates and long-since gentrified neighbourhoods, Finisterre, the first of much loved electro-pop trio Saint Etienne’s feature length collaborations with the acclaimed filmmaker Paul Kelly, offers a pitch-perfect homage to a city and its inhabitants. Copies of the poster illustrated here (signed by both directors and all three members of Saint Etienne) will be available to purchase at £15 each on the night with all proceeds going towards the Save The Social fund.

It was arranged and conducted by the late David Whitaker, who had worked with Serge Gainsbourg, Marianne Faithfull and Lee Hazlewood. This show follows the bands sold out performance at the Barbican Centre with the London Contemporary Orchestra in May and features a smaller, shipped back string section. The Tiger Bay album will be followed by a set of hits and fan favourites also featuring orchestration. Saint Etienne as you’ve never heard them before - not t be missed.
Tiger Bay - pre-orders We've been totally overwhelmed by the amount of pre-orders we've received for the Tiger Bay box set. We thought we would have enough Surrey North EPs to last until the 5th May but miss calculated just how popular this set would be. We have scraped together a small box of Surrey North's - the very last - and will offer those with the Box Set once again from around 7.30-8pm UK time tonight. As the early stock sold in the morning UK time we thought we should give our US fans a better chance of getting these. These will go quickly and once gone pre-orders will come without the Surrey EP. Best of luck!!! xxx
