Paul Weller (born 25 May 1958) is an English singer / songwriter, leader of two successful bands: The Jam and The Style Council. In England, he is recognised as something of a national institution yet, because much of his songwriting is rooted in English culture, he has remained essentially a national rather than an international star.
Weller's eleventh studio album, Sonik Kicks, was released on 19 March 2012. The Green Songfacts reports that it was recorded in Weller’s own Black Barn Studios in Ripley Read more on Last.fm

“It was 1977 my dad had just got out of the army and we returned to UK to start the next chapter in our lives. I went to Eastwood high school for boys in Southend. That’s when I first heard ‘In the City’. I was hooked as were all the like minded younger 13 years olds. The Jam became the topic of discussion along with clothes. If you didn’t have a Fred Perry polo shirt you were not a MOD. Since then I have every 7 inch, 12 inch and album from The Jam, The brilliant Style Council and of course all his solo records. All on vinyl, some of us didn’t stop. All I can say is that he has been a massive part of my life with his music and how he cuts about looking so sharp. Just keep going mate. I look forward to each new record to see where it takes you and your fans.
