Mexico! We’re coming for you this Saturday with a Dj set @whitehouse.mx. For the first time in years(maybe ever) Josh and I will be Dj’ing together. I’ll be the first to admit Dj’ing has had its ups and downs over the years, we’ve played some funny venues and some amazing ones, some good music and some boring stuff. The hardest part has always been trying please everyone, but finally over the last 6 months I’ve started to feel at home again, playing music that feels right and that I actually love. 2017 was an amazing year of getting back to my/our roots of what I love about music, this also applies to our upcoming releases. More news on this soon. But for now, I have a feeling Saturday is going to be great!
I’m doing a bunch of DJ sets around Australia this summer including a free weekly at Coogee Pavilion in Sydney every Sunday this month - so I threw together a mix to celebrate. This year was a big year of realization and musical discovery, which has helped in getting me back to making and playing the music that I love. After feeling like electronic & pop music was losing its soul I became a bit nostalgic and started listening back through the music that had inspired me over the years. This reminded me once again of the importance of timelessness and originality, something which was a big inspiration in my early stages of production. Wanting to stay both timeless and relevant at the same time is an extremely fine line, and I'm sure its a hard one to master. This mixtape is a reminder that music isn’t about hit records or ticket sales - it’s first and foremost about making your art. That's what makes it so special. So here's a "Summer Nostalgia Mix" to celebrate some of my favorite timeless electronic tracks and some newbies that I hold in high regard. - Ben Dates and ticket info at www.miamihorror.com/tour

So earlier this year, we had this crazy idea that instead of making music videos for our new EP we'd spend our budget creating art projects with our favorite artists. Because you know, why not? This is our car that you might have seen around, painted up by Australian artist Spenceroni (who also did our mural in Melbourne). We couldn't resist taking it for a spin from Melbourne to Sydney and stopped off to see some of our friends on the way. The video features one of our favorite songs from 'The Shapes' release with "Dark Love" ft Danny Pratt. Shop our brand new merchandise, featuring designs from Spenceroni at http://shop.miamihorror.com 'The Shapes' available now: smarturl.it/theshapes
