Saddend by the news that Oli Herbert from All That Remains has passed. He was a talented kind hearted soul who took his craft to the highest level. True discipline to the instrument. In the over two months we spent on tour with them he was always friendly to us and had a way off dropping the funniest one line jokes and then just walking away with a straight face. You were a class act Oli and will be missed. We’ll see you on the other side.
Just a little update from me. I've been having major lower left side back pain which has pretty much left me in the bed for about 3 weeks. My jaw is still messed up, and my bladder doesn't work properly. My good eye is still not right with the no tears major dryness' and no tracking. My mouth is also continually major dry. I also have no feeling on the right side of my face due to the stroke and why I shaved (tired of having food in my beard haha). My new cool glasses haha are to protect me eye, and let me see a little better. I have also been going through some major unrelated life issues. I write all this to say I'm thankful for these times I'm able to focus on myself and becoming a better man. I believe that everything happens for a reason and what doesn't destroy you only makes you stronger. Know that all of you that are reading this, and if your having a hard time try to be still, and patient and use it as a time for God to strengthen you and make you stronger and let him keep your heart warm and happy. You are all beautiful people with a great purpose. Don't let your downfalls destroy you let them make you stronger and a better person in Jesus name. “He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.” Psalms 23:2-3 NLT
Update from Dallas: Thank you so much to everyone that has supported me through this time. It means more than you know. I will try to give a breakdown of what happened to me. On August 2nd I had a four wheeler accident. I Broke every bone in my face. Cracked my skull. Have a brain injury and bleeding on my brain. My face came apart from my skull in two places. Have a fully blocked carotid artery. Broke my arm really bad have plates now. Ripped my left ear down to the canal. The other ear has blood behind it so I can't hear well. Have blood on my lungs and lung atrophy from the ventilator and tracheotomy which causes my oxygen to be always low. Broke my upper and lower jaw had to have it wired shut. Had a trama stroke so I can't feel the right side of my face from that my teeth don't come together because of the weak muscle. Can't track left or right in my right eye and I can't produce tears in my eyes. I can't feel my eye either so I don't know when to blink and from no tears my vision is extremely blurry. Lost vision in my left eye for good. In a nutshell that's what happened haha. But I'm alive they didn't know if I was gonna make it even Dr's or still be in the hospital at best. I'm so thankful to be alive. Thank you again to everyone who has supported me mentally, spiritually, and financially I can never thank you all for your love and generosity. Sorry for not responding to all the messages and texts due to my eye but they have blessed me greatly. I hope you all have the best Christmas, and know that God has made you all wonderful and beautiful. I love you all so much. God bless you!
Dallas is improving. He had his jaw wires removed yesterday. They changed his trac to a different valve and look to seal the trac up soon. He is doing physical therapy twice a day. He still is a fall risk and has to have assistance when walking. He has had his catheter removed and seems in good spirits. Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, and donations.
Chad and I visited with Dallas today for a couple of hours. It is safe to say Dallas still has his sense of humor and loveable personality trapped underneath all the broken bones. He is communicating through gestures and simple sign language because of his broken jaw and trac. He looks really beat up, but he still looks like Dallas. He has made an incredible recovery since Tuesday when we expected the worst. As great of a visit as it was, it was also a sobering reminder of how far he still needs to go. Thank you to anyone who has donated, shared, or talked about the GoFundMe. The support so far has been incredible. Please lets keep it up. -bL
