TODAY IS WORLD WATER DAY! If you have followed Jars of Clay over the years, you know how passionate we are about water. It’s in our lyrics, it’s in our music videos, it’s in our concerts. What you may not know is that the non-profit organization we started in 2004, Blood:Water, is a leader in sustainable clean water development in Sub-Saharan Africa. We have learned that the ONLY way to impact long term solutions to water scarcity is to fund, support, strengthen and grow African led, local organizations that solve the problem of water scarcity in THEIR own communities based on their knowledge and local context. There is a HUGE difference between water organizations that simply hire drilling teams or send people to implement water projects that those organizations deem necessary VS. Blood:Water and our approach of funding water projects that have been decided on by the local communities themselves, and also helping those local drillers and water professionals grow their capacity and strengthen the areas of their organizations that are not functioning efficiently. We know that the water crisis will only be solved by helping local African organizations solve their water scarcity problems the way they know is best. There are NO other water development organizations doing what we do. And that is why no other organization can boast on the sustainability of their projects like we can. If it has been a while since you supported Blood:Water or you are hearing about us for the first time... consider donating today. www.bloodwater.org Thank you!!!
