A little flashback to a few summers ago when Greg and Brandi Carlile performed "Boy's in the Street" together on tour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHHZjCn4ly0
And now friends, with that being my last show of the year, I leave you for a while. This has been a very tough year for me personally and it’s not only time for some deep soul searching, but also time to let go of this unhealthy relationship I have with social media (and my phone) and find the real world again.. I’m putting down this life-sucking device for the summer, heading to a place where I don’t know a soul or speak their language, and I’ll be back just in time for Halloween, hopefully... To give me something creative to focus on so I don’t lose my god damn mind, I will however be (for lack of a better word) “journaling” about the inner workings of my weird brain on my blog (bobonomo.com). There are likely people out there who can relate and I will be exercising some healthy vulnerability in the name of human connectivity. Thank you for always supporting me you sweet humans. Talk to you soon ✌🏻
Teaching and mentoring is not something I ever 1) thought people would want me to do or 2) ever thought I’d want to do. But it keeps finding me this year so I’m rolling with it. If you’re interested in learning more about the craft of songwriting, or just improving your art form, consider joining myself, and other wonderful professional writers/producers this November in San Pancho, Mexico for an incredibly intimate week by the ocean. We’ll be sharing our knowledge and expertise in a non-formal, hands on songwriting setting where you will be with us 24/7. For more information visit makehitwaves.com, maybe we’ll see you in Mexico! 🇲🇽
Just a handful of the incredibly inspiring people I’ve had the honour of spending the week with. The Hawaii Songwriting Festival is one of the most special events I’ve been a part of and I’m leaving the big island right now with a heavy but very full heart. What a special place, filled with very special people.
In the early hours of the first morning of 2015, my good friend and extremely talented musician Matthew Cogley tragically lost his internal battle to mental illness. His decision to take his own life left many of us devastated, confused and heartbroken. I had no idea he was suffering. Mental illness can be a silent killer, and is a condition I myself have dealt with on and off my whole life. After Matt’s death, some friends of ours started www.wearehummingbirdhealth.com, a non-profit that provides people with the tools to recognise when someone around them is suffering. Using the power of music, and an online training course, they are trying to educate people so they can make a positive impact on the lives of people in pain. Please check them out, and if you can, make a donation or buy one of these shirts (the back is beautiful) ✌🏻

At the risk of sounding like a compliment-seekin’, social media-lovin’ douchebag, I’m curious how you guys are liking the new album. Favourite songs? Least favourite? (Actually keep that to yourself I can’t handle that sort of rejection). If you haven’t heard it yet, well what are you waiting for? https://gregholden.lnk.to/WorldWarMeFA
