"Burnt Weeny Sandwich" released #OnThisDay in 1970. The album focuses mostly on studio recordings and tightly arranged compositions. The album's unusual title, FZ would later say in an interview, comes from an actual snack that he enjoyed eating, consisting of a burnt Hebrew National hot dog sandwiched between two pieces of bread with mustard. This album was recently reissued on 180gram audiophile black vinyl—specially mastered for this release by Bernie Grundman with all analog production and cut directly from the 1970 ¼: stereo safety master tape in 2018. Unavailable on vinyl for more than three decades, the LP includes the original album's black and white poster, which has never been reproduced in any of the album's CD editions. This is Official FZ Release #9. What's your favorite track on this album? http://bit.ly/2Br3NNx

"Halloween" released #OnThisDay in 2003 in DVD-Audio format via Vaulternative Records. It features recordings compiled from various shows at The Palladium, New York City in late October 1978—including a Halloween show on October 31—along with some video content from the same period. The set includes a performance of "Ancient Armaments", which appears on the album for the first time in digital form, having previously been included as the B-side to "I Don't Wanna Get Drafted" in 1980. This is Official FZ Release #71. What's your favorite track from this release? http://bit.ly/2Dwqjq7

"Joe's Camouflage" released #OnThisDay in 2014 on Vaulternative Records. It represents the first official release of material by "the group disguised as a band" Zappa assembled for rehearsals in the summer of 1975. They rehearsed. They had photo sessions. Promo pictures were printed with record company logos and published, but the band never toured or recorded material in the studio. The lineup featured FZ - Guitar, Vocals; Denny Walley - Guitars, Vocals; Robert “Frog” Camarena - Vocals, Guitar; Novi Novog - Viola, Keyboards, Vocals; Napoleon Murphy Brock - Tenor Sax, Vocals; Roy Estrada - Bass, Vocals; Terry Bozzio – Drums; and Andre Lewis - Keyboards, Vocals. The audio is sourced from casette recordings of rehearsals by Denny Walley. This is Official FZ Release #98. What's your favorite track on this album? http://bit.ly/2n7ylyT

In celebration of its release in 1978, "Zappa In New York" will be released on March 29 via Zappa Records/UMe as a suite of expanded anniversary editions to commemorate the album’s recent 40th anniversary. The expanded versions will be available as a 5CD box set, 3LP on 180-gram audiophile grade vinyl, and digitally. Pre-order NOW: https://ume.lnk.to/ZappaInNewYork40 The 5-disc collection, which will be housed in a limited-edition metal tin shaped like a NYC street manhole cover and includes a replica ticket from one of the shows, consists of the main album in its original mix, newly remastered by Bob Ludwig in 2018 and available for the first time since its debut. The four additional discs are loaded with relevant Vault nuggets and more than three hours of unreleased live performances from the NYC Palladium concerts, representing every composition played during the concerts and the best alternate performances of every tune Zappa picked for the original album, all newly mixed in 2018. To achieve the highest-level sound quality, the audio team went back to the original two-inch 24-track multi-track master tapes and transferred every reel at 96kHz 24-bit wavs.

"Sleep Dirt" released #OnThisDay in 1979. The album's creation was spurred by Warner Bros.' rejection of Zappa's "Läther" album. After demanding more albums than Zappa was contractually obliged to provide, and reediting the live album "Zappa in New York," a lawsuit ensued, during which "Studio Tan," "Sleep Dirt" and "Orchestral Favorites" were issued without Zappa's permission. As FZ had delivered the tapes only, these three individual albums were released with no musical credits. The 1979 LP version of "Sleep Dirt" was entirely instrumental. However, with the CD release in 1991, Zappa added new overdubs to the recordings. The creature shown on the cover is Hedorah from the 1971 Toho film Godzilla vs. Hedorah. This is Official FZ Release #25. What's your favorite track on the album? http://bit.ly/2CS0xwd

"Imaginary Diseases" released #OnThisDay in 2006. The album features material from the Petit Wazoo tour of 1972. "Many have tried to define who Frank was as a creative entity, but everything he wrote, played, sang or said further defined him as exquisitely indefinable. Imaginary Diseases is yet another Zappa jewel that places his body of work far beyond any limitation of label or category. And that’s the way we like it." - Steve Vai, from his album liner notes for "Imaginary Diseases". This is Official FZ Release #76. What's your favorite track on this album? http://bit.ly/2jeC0KN

"Thing Fish" also released #OnThisDay in 1984: "The simple thought behind Thing-Fish is that somebody manufactured a disease called AIDS and they tested it. They were developing it as a weapon and they tested it on convicts, the same way as they used to do experiments on black inmates, using syphilis. That's documented. They used to do these experiments with syphilis on black inmates in US prisons. That's fact. So we take it one step further and they're concocting the special disease which is genetically specific to get rid of 'all highly rhythmic individuals and sissy boys.' So I postulate that they do this test in a prison and part of the test backfires and these mutants are created." - Frank Zappa Official Release #41. What's your favorite track? http://bit.ly/2i9EM0g

10th December 1971, playing the first of two nights at London's Rainbow Theatre, in England, Frank Zappa was pushed off stage by Trevor Howell, the jealous boyfriend of an audience member. Zappa fell onto the concrete-floored orchestra pit - the band thought Zappa had been killed. He suffered serious fractures, head trauma and injuries to his back, leg, and neck, as well as a crushed larynx, which ultimately caused his voice to drop a third after healing. This accident resulted in him using a wheelchair for an extended period, forcing him off the road for over half a year.
