I’m extremely proud to be part of the Artists for Sudan project. It’s an honour to perform alongside so many incredible Canadian musicians. Not only has this project raised awareness of Sudan’s situation for me personally, but my hope is that our song encourages others to not only get informed, but help in any way they can. Big thank you to all the beauties that came out to Canal Days yesterday! We had a blast playing alongside I MOTHER EARTH with such a killer crowd. Thank you to 97.7 HTZ-FM Rock Search winners DROP TOP ALIBI for opening the show, and to Mini's Memories for capturing an awesome shot at the end! Now... back to the studio, all inspired and pumped thanks to you Canal days!
Well, hola there... Cheers to A NEW YEAR, NEW MUSIC, and new perspective. it’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to stretch our legs and do some shows We have been locked away in writing session and the Studio for a while (more on that soon). In fact we have only really popped our head out twice to play live in the last few months, but those 2 shows have really helped gain a bit of perspective and light a fire. First we were asked by our friends in Billy Talent to help out the community of the Danforth in the City of Toronto and play a couple tunes at #Torontotogether. Such an incredible evening put together by the great dudes in Billy Talent, for all the right reasons. Then we got asked to play for the troops in SPAIN aboard NCSM Ville de Québec The Ville de Québec is a frigate-class ship that carries a brand new cyclone helicopter. For some reason, they let us run around ON and IN it. I climbed on top of a helicopter. I didn’t even know you could physically DO that... After that, we played our show to a bunch of rowdy Canadian fans and I couldn’t be happier with how things went down. We were happy to see them and they really did seem happy to see us. There wasn’t much distance between band and audience. That’s the way it should always be. We got a chance to hang for a couple hours and really see how these folks live. All the different ranks have different hangouts to eat and drink. Their lounges (messes) really do look like a sprawling version of a vintage tour bus. But to be fair: a tour bus has far less tactical capability. Advantage: Ville de Québec. The day after the show we got a lesson in rappelling. Basically how to climb down any surface like a badass. Rick has a SWEET video of his adventure. Those maneuvers are always harder than they look. Those LIVE shows really helped when we got back to the real world. Some good things are happening. The new music is coming together and we are also putting the finishing touches on some acoustic versions of “classic” F11 stuff. I really feel like live shows help the energy for our band. and I hope some of you can come and hang out at the upcoming shows in Ontario, with IME over the next few weeks. I am excited to release new music, and travel to all of your backyards again soon. It’s been too long. Your pal, Scott.
Ahh ya! Finally we have some live shows coming soon! My heart and soul are so stoked to play live again. Don't get me wrong, I love the studio, and the new stuff we've been working on is really exciting. It has definitely got an old school F11 vibe to it (Scott has more on that soon), but if it was up to me, I would always just play shows. We get to do a few more dates to wrap up our touring with the Mothers, and the fact that it is a 12 date theatre run in Ontario is really perfect! Last year was killer with those guys, so many great shows, it will be wicked to hook up and jam with them as well. Here are the deets for our Ontario RUN and stay tuned for a music, and all things F11 update from Scott soon. - Rick Jan 10 - Chattham @ Capitol Theatre: bit.ly/2SwC1bv Jan 11 - Guelph @ River Run Centre: bit.ly/2RzSMCm Jan 12 - Brampton @ Rose Theatre: bit.ly/2QeuzFg Jan 17 - St.Catherines @ FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre: bit.ly/2QCddBo Jan 18 - Milton @ FirstOntario Arts Centre: bit.ly/2Svdm77 Jan 19 - Kingston @ Grand Theatre: bit.ly/2BPXNS1 Jan 20 - Picton @ Regent Theatre: bit.ly/2Ef1Ol8 Jan 23 - Brantford @ Sanderson Centre: bit.ly/2DXOAIR Jan 24 - Sarnia @ Imperial Theatre: bit.ly/2SuZnOO Jan 25 - Burlington @ Burlington Performing Arts Centre: bit.ly/2Q9XSZm Jan 26 - Richmond Hill @ Richmond Hill Performing Arts Centre: bit.ly/2AQ1Eg7 Jan 31 - North Bay @ Capitol Centre: bit.ly/2rmxYCM
Last night we got to be a part of the TOronto TOgether benefit. It was great to see old friends and make some new ones. We want to give a great big thank you to everyone who made this night possible including: The Danforth Music Hall, Live Nation Ontario, Indie88Toronto, Dine Alone Records, City and Colour, PUP, Cone and Dave of Sum 41, Serena Ryder, Maestro Fresh Wes, Hayden and of course the incredible Billy Talent- who gathered up their friends and raised what Ben referred to as a “shit ton” of money for the victims of the Danforth shooting. There was an overwhelming amount of love in the room, and that spirit lasted through the entire show. Canadian music fans really are the best... So, thank you to everyone who attended. You showed so much love and support last night for your city, and we are honoured to have been a part of it. Cheers to a wonderful memory. -Scott #TorontoStrong
