The 100th Daptone Records 45 milestone has been reached, and is out everywhere TODAY. What started as an ambitious thank you to you, our beloved fans, has now also become a loving tribute to the brothers and sister we've lost since it’s inception: Charles Bradley, Dan Klein, Cliff Driver, and our eternal Queen, Miss Sharon Jones. So, thank you, friends, for all the years you've helped us to "Keep Putting Soul Up." May this disc forever live as a token of our gratitude, and keepsake of the times when our departed loved ones shared the stage with us. 45 & Digital: dapt.one/100th45 Order the 100th 45 at the Daptone Shop, where all other 45s are 25% off until midnight tonight with the code THEFAMILYDAPTONE at checkout: dapt.one/shop

'One night when we were on our way home from the subway, Mark spotted Charles Bradley sitting by himself on the other end of the car. We walked over and introduced ourselves and told him we were fans. He was happy we stopped to say hello and told us he was playing ‘The Bowery Hotel’ (he meant the Bowery Ballroom) the next night and told us we should come see the show ... and we did. ...we are all forever blessed by the love and light he shared.' In late 2016, Charles Bradley faced his greatest challenge in a lifetime filled with challenges. A stomach cancer diagnosis earlier that fall forced him off the road at the peak of his career. Weakened by months of chemotherapy, facing a potentially life threatening surgery and confronting his own mortality, Bradley stepped into a home recording studio in Queens, NY and spontaneously created “Lonely as You Are.” The track (with Bradley backed by Seth Avett and Mike Marsh from The Avett Brothers, along with co-producers James Levy and Paul Defiglia) will be released this Friday.
