Remembering a Legend, things Funkateers Need to Know! Born in Dayton, Ohio, Walter "Junie" Morrison sang and played piano as a child, soon learning a range of other instruments and becoming a school choir director and orchestra conductor. In 1970, he joined the funk band the Ohio Players, becoming a producer, writer, keyboardist and vocalist involved in some of their major hits and the albums Pain, Pleasure, and Ecstasy. He was largely responsible for writing and arranging the band's 1973 hit single, "Funky Worm". He left the band in 1974 to release three solo albums on Westbound Records, on which he played all the instruments,[1] credited as Junie – When We Do, Freeze, and Suzie Supergroupie. In 1977 Morrison joined George Clinton's P-Funk (Parliament-Funkadelic) where he became musical director. He brought a unique sound to P-Funk and played a key role during the time of their greatest popularity from 1978 through 1980. In particular, he made prominent contributions to the platinum-selling Funkadelic album One Nation Under a Groove,[3] the single "(Not Just) Knee Deep" (a #1 hit on the U.S. R&B charts in 1979), the gold-selling Parliament albums Motor Booty Affair, and Gloryhallastoopid. Morrison also played on and produced some P-Funk material under the pseudonym J.S. Theracon, apparently to avoid contractual difficulties. Morrison is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted in 1997 with fifteen other members of Parliament-Funkadelic. Clinton once described Morrison as "the most phenomenal musician on the planet."πŸŽ‚πŸ€˜πŸŽ‚πŸŽΌπŸŽ‚πŸ€—

Dang! Another legend has Changed Frequencies. Mr. Harvey Scales (September 27, 1942 – February 11, 2019)[1] was an American R&B singer, songwriter, and producer. Scales had been active in the music industry since the 1960s, and composed songs for groups such as The Dells, The Dramatics and The O'Jays. He is particularly notable for his co-authorship of the songs "Love-Itis" and "Disco Lady". Once called Milwaukee's "Godfather of Soul" by a local reporter,[citation needed] Scales credited James Brown and the sound of "funk" for influencing his music career. This Post is, "Education-4-the-Nation"! U Mugs just Need to Know about the Greatest Dancers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_HYfbZyrrA Fayard Antonio Nicholas was born October 20, 1914, in Mobile, Alabama. Harold Lloyd Nicholas was born March 17, 1921, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Nicholas Brothers grew up in Philadelphia, the sons of college-educated musicians who played in their own band at the old Standard Theaterβ€”their mother at the piano and father on drums. At the age of three, Fayard would always sit in the front row while his parents worked, and by the time he was ten, he had seen most of the great African-American vaudeville actsβ€”particularly the dancers, including such notables of the time as Alice Whitman, Willie Bryant, and Bill Robinson. The brothers were fascinated by the combination of tap dancing and acrobatics. Fayard often imitated their acrobatics and clowning for the kids in his neighborhood. Neither Fayard nor Harold had any formal dance training. Fayard taught himself how to dance, sing, and perform by watching and imitating the professional entertainers on stage. He then taught his younger siblings, first performing with his sister Dorothy as the Nicholas Kids, later joined by Harold. Harold idolized his older brother and learned by copying his moves and distinct style. Dorothy later opted out of the act, and the Nicholas Kids became known as the Nicholas Brothers.
