There are many artists with this name: 1) Arca is an experimental project by Alejandra Ghersi, a Venezuelan electronic producer, mixing engineer and DJ. Arca does not take many categories for granted. Her fondness for what she calls “in-between states” extends to gender, genre, emotion, and form itself. Mutability and ambivalence guide the sound of her music — the atmospheres she creates often contain abrasive percussive blasts, metal-shop whine, the screech of subway brakes, the whine of jet engines overheating.
